this is how retro should be going...

...this guy is so metal, just like surfing used to be. I'm talking the good ol' F.A.B. video Aloha from Hell days. He's got his brown bagged 40 oz., black leather trench coat, walking the wrong way down a one way street with his headphones on probably listening to the new Lamb of God album (which, is awesome), while the rest of the sheep are being brainwashed into going straight down the line on an under-performance surfboard. Retro would be way better if this guy was in charge. You could still have your tight pants, but hitting the lip would be in style too. If given the ultimatum, I'd shop at Hot Topic before Urban Outfitters anyday.

I just assumed everyone read the Surfer's Journal and knew about hulls and hipsters. An oversight in hindsight. Sometimes I write after I read or see something and just assume everyone's had the same exposure.

Wow this blog is going down hill fast...I mean when you put up an article like the c.hipsters and now one responds - thats sad - I guess people hear only want to talk about parking meters - Sorry Ian, folliers just can't relate to your west coast stories - I on the hand see this guy passing the line up all the time and he is the real Jay with no silent Bob.

Wow more Cali stuff huh? That was lame. If its gona be about cali show some good waves. Or tie some cut up tuna to youreself and go for a swim at La jolla cove. Have someone take pictures when the man in the grey suite shows up. That would be cool.

See those that 2 wave set in the background? The ones bigger than anything you've surfed recently? Yeah, I didn't go out this day. Just over the 2-3 foot semi bumpy days. Kind of lame, I know, but whatevs.

Yeah the waves might be bigger. So is rent. How much do you pay for a 2 bedroom apartment in Cali if you want to buy it. Oh about 600,000 dollars. You have to work 2 jobs to pay your mortgage. So most people don't have time to surf. I still like it, but like I said show some good waves or something interesting if you are going to show california.

Come on guy, I only post stuff when there has been nothing posted by late afternoon EST. Some people want to see something, anything, rather than nothing. That's why it's there.

I wish nobody had time to surf here because they had 2 jobs. Instead an unemployment rate of 10% in San Diego leaves approximately 133,000 people with all the time in the world to surf.

I cant wait to one up you and send some pics from Australia next month. Heading south of Sydney in a beat up station wagon.

I'll miss you Grrrr....
