Safety First.

A law in NC classifies every ones beloved SUP in the same category as kayaks and canoes. What does this mean for the majestic janitors of the sea? It means that a life jacket or PFD is required on board at all times. This law is enforced on local waterways as well as in surf zones. The reason this law applies to SUPs and not other craft (surfboards, rafts, etc.) is the paddle. I find it to be a disturbing thought that the only thing that separates my surfboard from a SUP is a stick. With NC marking these sea sweepers for ridicule by instituting a uniform, it is only a matter of time before these regulations drip south... if they haven't yet.

I can't wait.

By the way, the 6'1" MSF was won by Josh Mcfadden. Congratulations.

A PDF? Which version of Adobe Acrobat do they require?

Older versions work but the most recent is recommended.

take of advantage of this, marketing gurus and purveyors of style.

stock O'neill PFDs, ...lost life jackets, RipCurl SOSpenders - you get the picture and surely the dollars will flow.

you may even find a manufacturer who still does business in the US of A.

To all whom it may concern...Proof read before you post! I thank you.

You guys may want to do a little more research before posting SUP regulations. I believe PFD's are not required in the surf zone.....

They are as long as you have a paddle.
