No Waves ?

Well, as you know, this winter has been crap for waves, but just because there are no waves doesn't mean you can't use your surfboard. All you need is a little time and innovation

Here is a surfboard herb garden my roommate built out of my classic 6'0" Maxxed Out blade, and no, not that kind of "herb".

It better not be "herb", you dirty hippy. Otherwise, Slurry Jones will be on the case and he'll school 'ya.

It is a couple types of basil. There is also some thyme and other stuff I can't remember at the moment, maybe rosemary.

"Classic" and "Maxxed Out" in the same sentence?

Drew said...

That Maxxed Out is a "classic" example of an early 90's super thin patato chip with extreme elf shoe rocker. They don't make 'em like that anymore (and for good reason).

No, it's not. It's a classic example of a board shaped in a garage in Summerville.

No sh!*, Why do you think it is now a shelf?

Don't get pissy. You're the one using the word "classic" to describe a piece of sh!*.

Hey, everything becomes "classic" after enough time! Just look at Slurry....or, me for that matter.

So they're calling it "basil" and "thyme" now, huh Drew?? Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.

Stupid hippies gonna burn the house down trying to grow some basil for pesto...pfffftt

I don't know of any hippies burning down a house trying to "grow" herbs. But, I guess that lamp could get a little warm. I also didn't know how much hostility existed concerning Maxxed Outs. Sorry for bringing it up. For future reference, if I am using quotations around a word then it is most likely being used facetiously, such as "classic".

Your quotations were around "herb", not classic. No hostility, though. Just thought it was humorous that the "no pop-out crusader" can't tell the difference between a classic mid 90's era blade and an amateur backyard version.

Ouch, that stung a little.

aw ,lighten up ,anonymous ,you're giving us a anonymice a bad rap.

Sorry, man. Started out as a joke and I took it too far. Jonesin for some surf. No disprespect intended, Craig.

This is exactly what happens after, what?, at least 5 weeks of no real waves...

"E-shoving", anonymously getting aggro about nonsense. I can guarantee that no individual who posted here would behave like this towards anyone else here (talking shit. taking out their no-surf frustrations) should we all be meeting in real life (at the Surfbar) and having a conversation about "herbs" or shitty days of no waves, with shitty cold weather.
Prove us all wrong "anonymizer"..like Ted Nugent said..."Put up or Shutup". Show up at the Surf bar and act civil, let's all inebriate and conversate...or are you to busy with one-handed activities on the internet?
Thank Slurry Jones that the Fraking sun came out today...and yes "anonymous" that is a reference to Battlestar Galactica, the new one, not the old one.

I'm going to take my apology one step further. After re-reading my posts, they're anything but respectful to Craig Simms, and that wasn't my intention. I was initially just having a little fun with Drew. The "piece of sh!*" comment was a little mis-placed aggression once Drew got pissy. I have nothing but respect for what Craig, Buddha, Todd, and others were doing back in the day, and I hope you're still getting in the shaping room. I'm going to retreat into self-imposed exile, now, as I've made an ass of myself. Jonesin, man. Jonesin.

Ah, but remember these immortal Ted Nugent words "When in doubt I whip it out/I got me a rock and roll band, it's a free for all!"

Now really what else do you need beyond that wisdom? Huh?

Drew said...

Wow, busy day on the blog. No disrespect to Craig, I had some fun on that board. However, its days of seaworthy-ness are at an end. But don't worry, its days of herb garden shelfery have just begun.

ian, your unique quest to the west coast for a better life has inspired me to make an original voyage myself, as i will be leaving for humboldt county next september. in all seriousness though, i can't wait to surf some actual consistent waves.
