lifeguards surfing in safe-swimming zone...

...this is the second missed opportunity for me to catch one in the process, this time due to the fact that someone left the shop camera ISO setting at 800. You can see him carrying the board back up the beach at least. Is there a big word that describes this situation?

That word would be....now say it with me.....HYPOCRITICAL.

Or for those of you that would care to use a more colloquial term..

BULLS**T.

Keep in mind they'll use the excuse of "we were training, as we use the boards to save lives"

im not sure if there is a so called "safe swimming" in the ocean... sharks, jelly fish, rip tides, lifeguards with whistles, and other random dangers...

How soon before lifeguards at the washout?

Life gaurds already have the run of the place up in Wrightsville Beach. No surfing except in special "zones" where most of the time theres no sandbar and forty of your closest friends. Maybe one day the same will go for here.

Luckily for those living in the WB they have alternatives like Masonboro Island, the Outer Banks, etc. We have a lighthouse and more useless beach break. Once they take the Washout, surfing here will be in an unbelievably worse state than it already is if not done for good.

Everyone should get out and move back to Columbia while they have the chance.

It was nice surfing the pier, glassy and knee high (with only a handfull of longboarders) till mid day. The only thing forcing you from the water back then was a shifting wind or tide. Sadly those days as well have come and gone. Im getting old, grumpy (like Ian) and desperate.

On another note: Please, Nobody kick me in the nuts. The blue balls ive shamefully contracted is painfull enough....plus I wanna be able to have kids one day.

"Double Standards", it seems that it is always the same story when a few people in low places have authority over others. A really bad trait of humans throughout history. Organize...the only way to fight the system is to be in the system. Catch phrase..."FREE FOLLY"..."FREE FOLLY"..."FREE FOLLY" from greed, injustice and the abuse of the local public safety officers. South Carolina...smiling faces and fucked up places.

so what are you saying...... maybe that Ian should get a seat in town council... ??? Are people constantly getting hurt or drowning at the washout, it's the one site that there have been contests consistantly held at...
so are there going to be exceptions on contest days... surf where you want ... get tickets and dont pay them.... go to jail for surfing and im sure there will be hell raised... holy shit... now im getting grumpy too....

great shots man. thats real hard evidence. i was wondering if you could get a picture of the peligro for me. your photography skills are unbeatable.

That pic is terrible. Why is the first pic so terrible but the second one is fine.Yeah the lifeguards have boards so they can RESCUE people. Yes they do train on them. They have made about 10 rescues this summer just at the pier.Nothing on here about that though. Or the missing kids they have helped find. All I see is the negative side to it. Most of the beach is free to surf. The police really don't enforce the entire area they could. There are laws we all have to follow we might not like. Oh well get used to it.

Way to go Nancy Drew you've solved the crime, except for the whole getting the evidence. Notice how you only got them out of the water carrying aboard. It's not like they're cursing out cops like Finn.

In the first picture thats actually not a lifeguard surfing. It is the legondary sea monster the "peligro". It inhabits the area around the pier gobiling up surfers and tourists from midwestern states. Few have seen this monster and lived to tell the story. Consider youreself lucky to be alive . I thought i got some good pics the other day too. The lifeguards dragged a wale out of the ocean and then started beating it with horseshoe crabs. It was horrible. I had the evidence ,but then I realized the lens cap was on. I'll get you next time!!! BEWARE of the PELIGRO

You have some free time, so read the caption you ignorant lifesaver. Do you stand up on the board when you're rescuing someone? Get your short red shorts out of your ass crack you little queer boy and go rub some banana boat oil on Ian's dong.

then you obviously have no clue what your talking about cause no lifeguards stand up on the boards when they ride waves. if they were caught doing so then they would be fired. all yall bitching about not being aloud to surf. yall act like its such a great spot. its not even that good. you act as if there is a line of people waiting to surf there. but why is it that as soon as six oclock rolls around there are only people with rentals paddling out. yall just want to complain and be dicks.

hey to rub some oil on it I would have to get it out of youre mouth first. I did read the caption you tool, and I don't see anyone surfing. BEWARE of the PELIGRO!

God I hope that Lifeguards take over all of Folly. They make the water just that much safer. Plus, those damn whales have been getting way too close to shore and beating them with horseshoe crabs is the only way. God bless those red suited heroes. We salute you!

I totally agree nothing wrong with some good old fashoned horse shoe crab whale beating now and then. For those of you that don't know one of the folly locals "chilly" got arrested the other day. So free chilly!!!
