Why don't they just get it over with and build a great big Berlin style wall across all public beaches so only the rich can enjoy "their" ocean! Nature didn't intend to have any houses on the beach and those man made pseudo dunes will just be washed away by the first real storm to hit like they always have been. Oh well, thats progress for ya.
Check out those sets lining up in the background.
So, here we go again. I'm sure this is a horrid horrid question to ask and will generate a new wave of hatred but here goes: why is it so hard to use the walkways?
Haole says...I've always used the walk ways anyway. Cut my foot years ago on a broken beer bottle in the rocks, cured me of that short cut, that was pre dunes, when there were only rocks and a sharper drop off. Protect nature, don't litter in the ocean or on the beach. Try to be as green as possible. Follow the ten commandments, be nice to your mother, don't kick the cat, eat your veggies...etc, etc.
i think the signs are more directed toward the tourist, that do not understand how fragile the eco system of the beach is. Not too many of those signs on IOP...
how about a sign that says "do not feed the flying beach rats and then they wont shart on everyone"... or a sign that says "don't fish where everyone likes to surf a-hole"
