Folly Smells Like Dead Fish

This is what the beach looks like...

...this is what it smells like.
I guess that's why no one is eating on restaurant patios as the stench has forcefully made its way down Center Street.

Apparently, there are tiny mussels that have washed upon our shores and their rotting sea flesh along with the onshore wind is the cause of the stink.
Hope for some more rain.

Hurricane swell is here...

...and by here, I mean not there. That guy's fish will be the death of him, but I'll let him figure that out for himself. Well, got to go dump out and grab my step-up for the 2nd sesh.

Spread'n the hate...

... for pop-outs
This is Australian shaper Daniel Thomsom of Tomo surfboards pictured in the most recent issue of Surfers Path. Judging from his sticker he seems to dislike molded boards too. So much in fact that he painstakingly placed this No Pop-outs sticker right over the channels of this board. Maybe he is just covering up a ding... but I doubt it. Lately his unique fish and other designs have been getting a lot of attention. Check them out here.

Alien Technology...

... according to their laminate. I thought these came from Florida. Anyway, we finally got our first shipment of Coil boards and they look great and cost about $100 less then a lot of other boards.

All I know about these boards secretive construction is that they are a stringer-less blank of some special foam that is then vacuumed bagged, I think, with epoxy and some kind of carbon fiber type material weaved in a 45 degree angle grid to provide strength and flex. Check out their website here (not much more info, but more pictures).

The end product is an extremely durable and light board that should ride like the first day you got it months/ years later.

Dims: 6'3" x 18 7/8" x 2 5/16" $550.00

You booze you lose...

... your ability for cognition, like this guy who passed out on our steps yesterday.

He was later awoken by a friend who held him up as he stumbled down the road offering everyone's favorite hand signal to cars as he passed. I hope everyone is ready for summer.

Hurricane Season and Cautious Optimism

Warm waters and an ending El NiƱo weather system, it might be a busy season.
