brand loyalty...

...after years in the shop I've seen lots of surf brand tattoos. One guy had a whole bunch of logos like Rusty's R., a couple Volcom Stones, Dragon Optical and whatever else, all prison style on his arm. Pretty sweet. Neck tats are kinda hard core just because they don't cover up easily. This guy is a fan of ...Lost obviously, and he backed it up by spending over $300 on ...Lost clothing when he was in the shop. Down for life, and the receipts to prove it!

This on the other hand has not been confirmed as a fan of ...Lost leaving me to speculate whether they're a fan of the television show or just plain clueless.

did you follow this kid around while mark distracted so you could get a good shot or did he actually pose. IR you could become a pro paparazzi!

Nobody poses, I'm that good.

Do you guys carry Brixton products?

I.R. said...

Nope. They have decent hats, but they wouldn't do too well at a surfshop.

the bullshit we do up on the hill is just that, bullshit.
Surfing is done in the water, and all the t-shirts and crap is just a sidebar ,something to talk about cause we can't surf 24 hours a day.
The tatto says more about cosmetic ,unimportant things, like how you appear than it has to do with surfing.
That clothing company is ,of course ,only in it for the money.
There aren't many things less important than a tatoo on a guy.
I saw a guy in the water last year with a big surfing tatoo and the guy was a flailing kook.I couldn't figure it out.It seems like if if its so important to tatto yourself for life ,geez at least spend some water time first.
Not to say your tatooed model isn't a ripper/shredder.There's no shortage of hot surfers these days.
It sounds like I'm anti tatoo I'm not,I'm just bored by them . I'm still waiting to see a compelling tatoo. I'm for tolerance, enjoy your tat.
I know i sure as hell don't want one.

As a "flailing Kook" with a tatoo, I ahve to chime in.

Have a tattoo? Great. Can or can't surf? Doesn't matter.

However, giving thought to what that tattoo will mean to you in 30-40 years??? Very important. I don't think ...Lost is going to mean much to him then, even if he's still surfing.

Hope he put's a little bit aside for his laser removal and doesn't just spend it all on clothes.

SO.... i just got a tattoo that reps surfing via waves... but also reps my kids by two tigers and my wife by bamboo... so i hope that if you see me wipe out on a wave trying to learn a move.. you dont call me a kook.
On the other hand getting a logo of a company says that you should of thought a little more about what surfing means to you.

Your wife is made of bamboo

Have I hit the water pipe one too many times?

Is it me or is there anyone else having trouble keeping up with this conversation?

I think I need a picture of these tattoos? I am very confused.

yes.... she actually is made of bamboo... kinda like Wilson in the movie Cast Away. Never gives me crap about going surfing.

I'm lost, no pun intended. Too many turds with tatoos these days. Only people who should have tattoos are excons, bikers and folks in the armed services. I see all these morons sportin their colors and I say, "just another reason not to get one".

Then again, it's always nice to be able to search for a hag tag on some chicks backside at the end of a long night drinkin if you need a quick lay.

ok,I'm curious ,and tatooless. Anyone whose had a tatoo a LONG time-whats it like later? Love it? Hate it? Is it like your first car?
Can you get a Brixton tatoo? Maybe if you could get John Severson to tatoo an old woody on you that could be cool. For me maybe my bondsman's phone number.

I saw a guy 2 summers ago fishing the Folly Pier with a tattoo on his back, of the Grim Reaper banging a redheaded chick doggie style over a Harley.... that was cool.

I've seen a guy surfing the pier with a ponytail and a tat of some kind on his lower back.... a dude with a "hag tag" (good one)...WTF?
