Kelly Slater sucks. His style looks like he is still back in his Jimmy Slade days.

Well what the hell's wrong with that? Baywatch was the best show ever. David Hasselhoff is talented on so may levels. The Germans know it and so should you.

Congrats Kelly Slater on numero nueve. Uno mas por favor.

You know I know its number 9 but I would like to say a big F-U to both Irons brothers - they are two of the biggest babies I've ever seen and people love them - they don't show up to Spain cause they have too much going on in their lives - they should have shown up just to be there to give Kelly the respect he deserves - they owe him everything for making the sport what it is today. I mean come on - both of them get six figure salaries from Red Bull. We all knew Kelly was going to win - no surprise but for them not to even show up to the contest to be another part of history is a F'n joke. Andy should understand it - Bruce can shove his creepy fingers up his a$$.

...on so many levels that is.

Fanning was a no show as well. As for Kelly's style, its beyond comprehension at this moment. In 10 years people will look back and say damn, he was surfing this good 10 years ago. 36 and ripping harder than ever. George Costanza would be proud: bald as hell and a fat ass wallet that's liable to bust with one more contest check. Booya!

I heart "Jimmy Slade" The Folly one!

Slater has always had more class than the Irons put together in their most humble moments....which are few and far between (actually non-existent). It really is sad that the majority of the 45 are being as cranky about his domination this year. If anything they should either bust ass to get to his level or pull a Bruce Irons and get out and let some fresh blood in. The most impressive guys have been the Brazilians because they're stoked to be there and enjoy the WCT. They give Slater their props and acknowledge him, but still bust ass without complaining. Perhaps a few Hawaiians and Aussies should take note.

Then again, let 'em try and get into the longboard circuit...then they'll have something to complain about.

IR, could you please explain to people that there is no such thing as al merrick surfboards, only channel islands surfboards which are "shaped" by al merrick. Symantics are everything.

Well Symaster D, I hate to disappoint so many loyal "All Merck" customers, but you are correct. Al Merrick has two labels that he designs boards for: Channel Islands Surfboards and Anacrapular. "There is no Al Merrick Surfboards" or boards shaped by Al Merrick unless your a 9x Champ, a power surfer from C-bad going through a mid-life crisis(the faux-hawk, still?) a hipster ripster from Norcal...I could go on but the list is maybe 15-20 people long. (Just guessing, any inside info appreciated)
