not as bad as it looked...

...how an East swell reading 5 feet @ 11 seconds can manage only a meager stomach-high peak every 20 minutes is beyond me. Maybe Surfline's Sean Collins reads the blog and can help me out.

Surfline never hits FB right. SwellInfo seems to hit it right about 50%. They called knee to waist for today.

But, that's why they call it "prediction".

It got a bit better when the tide pulled out...you all should have stayed another hour or more. But, in 20/20 hindsight, I'm glad everyone did leave. It was fun, even if it wasn't all that big. Better than thigh high wind chop.

Some of the bro's in obx said that the predictions were off on purpose to keep the virginia boys from crowding the breaks up... but that really count for us though.. really you just have to go out and see for yourself...

surfline that is... but the guy Andy Benke (i think that is how you spell his last name)on the carolina coast surf club website puts up a litlle blurb every day... he usually has it down to the tee about the best time of day to go... props to that guy..
