the great wax review,,,

...whether you use it as a coin holder, grip for your kayak paddle or whatever else, you have plenty of options. I'm too busy working at the shop to try out all these different waxes, so why don't we share with each other what works for you, and what chemist should be water-boarded for disguising Vaseline in a surf wax package.

Like my coin purse showed, I like the Sticky Bumps. On the other end, I'll agree with the other person that Mrs. Palmer's is indeed probably more effective when put on the bottom of a snowboard.

Mrs. Palmers and Mighty Mounds are both insults to the surf wax industry. Anyone supporting this corrupt enterprise of oily wax should have their legs broken followed by threat of amputation should their use of M.M. and M.P. continue.

I like using GreenSurf wax. It's more environmentally friendly than petroleum-based waxes. I find that it's less sticky than Sticky Bumps and similar in tackiness to Zog's Quick Bumps, and that it also applies relatively easy.

It's sold by Wetsand.com and Matunasco.com if you're interested. Here's a link too:

Way to start a conversation Ian. Let me give it a go. All Indians should be kept in zoos, beside the monkeys so our southern children can learn about evolution.

Sticky bumps for life.

Sticky bumps, but damn...I love Mighty Mounds packaging. So just sell me my Sticky bumps in a Mighty Mounds wrapper and I'll be happy.

Oh...I almost forgot.

While this is off subject. IR would you please turn on the wave machine for the weekend? While I know the water will be crowded, I've got all three days off and would like to try and dodge the occasional swimmer and/or sponger....thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

I like Sticky Bumps. Have definitely tried them all - except for Mighty Mounds, which, being a wahine who doesn't care about anyone's breasts but my own, I have refused to ever use. I've got Bubblegum on my board right now - it was the only decent wax to buy at Berts one early Monday morning. I like it okay. Good stick, but gets slick too quick.

I'm looking forward to trying out Matunas biodegradable surf wax. My order should arrive soon, but I wonder if I can find it on Folly... McKevlins?

I use my bro's wax just because I get a great price on it. Go D-Surf!

But, aside from that I really like Famous wax.

If you wanted to experiment a little you could just get yourself some bee's wax, coconut oil and pine tar and mix it together over some heat in various mixture ratios for your own biodegradable wax.

I like the hard to find purple label Sex Wax. Not the quick humps purple label, but the original purple label. Matuna's is pretty good too but only lasts about an hour so long sessions require rewaxings.
