...no, not those longboards. A longboard skateboard. Well, not actually the longboard itself, but the nice soft wheels of this borrowed over-sized plank. Normally, I wouldn't be caught dead on one of those things but it was the only option to bomb the hill on this day and get myself a bite to eat. Well, that bite to eat was almost sh*t.
A 90 degree turn at high-speed is pretty hairy especially when its at a blind stop sign with parked cars lining the street and little green reflectors leaving a 2-inch margin for error. Don't know how I made it, but I think the gummy wheels may have been saved my life. Death is inevitable, but I know a few people who would have been devastated... to hear I was riding a longboard skateboard that is.

Does everybody still say "right on" on Cali?
Right on!
was it hard to give up the rollerblades?
They don't say "right on" but every sentence ends like a question with either "yeah?" or "huh?"
For example, "That board works better as a 4 fin, yeah?" or "That drop was gnarly, huh?"
Never gave up the rollerblades, just put new rear brakes on them a few days ago.
Brakes? On your 'blades??? good lord you candy ass!
More cali stuff huh? I'm gona go surf my 1 - 2 feet wid slop and like it. Yeeeeeha!!!! Then I'm gonna SUP. Oh hell yeah. If only I had a mullet.
My bad. I forgot there are no hills in Charleston either.
Hills!!??? You forget I grew up in Cali and back in the day I skated on blades (as I too played hockey) and I didn't use brakes....Redondo beach, nice big death drops...no brakes....you did a slide or you just plain old dragged a back foot to control speed.... MAN UP!!!!
Oh and kick Cali in the nuts...dammit!
Peace !!!
Look very cool. Impressive and beautiful places. I will plan to go this places next week :) Thanks for sharing this Best Sector 9 Bamboo Longboards .
