Here is a look at the first tropical storm of the year, Alberto, which was kind enough to pop up off of our coast Saturday. Hopefully you got out there Saturday night or Sunday morning, but if not there should be something to ride the next few days. I think this storm might serve as more of an indicator of a busy storm season then a swell machine. Time will tell, but here is an excellent site to keep an eye on the tropics.

Brazilian Victory

Here is Gabriel Medina, this years winner of the coveted golden railroad spike from the Nike Lower's Pro. With arguably some of the best contest surfing seen, Medina took the victory against Ireland born Glenn Hall in the final heat; and while the final heat left a little to be desired, those leading up to the final are definitely worth taking a look at.
