Saturday

This is the pier on the North side around 2:00pm Saturday. When I was able to get out after work the wind was on it, but still fun. Hope you guys made it out.

Hey Drew...

Nice pic of the saturday swell. Also, thanks for the rashguard you guys sold me keeping me from becoming a lobster in this weekend's surf.
On another note, everyone appreciates the daily surf report you guys send out and also the sometimes daily twitter report. But can you guys do us a favor and not talk about an upcoming swell five days in advance? This is a conversation I heard in the water this weekend: "Yeah, I never would have come out here this weekend but on Wednesday the Mckevlin's report said there was going to be surf all weekend so me and my buddies got all our boards together and came down for the weekend." This guy and his friends were 4 dudes who had no idea what they were doing and kept dropping in on everybody. I have heard numerous people say "man, The McKevlins report is really blowing up the swell thats coming." And they are not saying it in a happy way. I know you are not the one who is usually giving the surf report but can you ask whoever gives it to please only state the current conditions, not prognosticate what is going to happen in the future? In this day and age of the internet, any true surfer knows where to look to see a forecast. We dont need any more hype for a "big swell" to increase the already crowded conditions. You guys do a really good job up there and we always appreciate your good service. Cheers

Hey Jimmy Slade. Looks like the smallest day here this summer, but with more jelly fish and fat people on the beach instead of hot chicks.

Yeah, it was pretty good for Folly. Ian is spoiled rotten out there in Cali. Wish I could live there too....I'm just full of envy. But Ian will always be an East Coaster to the locals. Just like the Karate Kid, he was from Jersey too.

west coasters do have bigger waves but east coasters have a way higher wave count per session.
and you freeze your ass off on summer mornings out west
as far as the report ,with all the forecasting websites, cams etc ,I didn't think that many people relied of telephone reports that much any more. I hadn't called the report in a long time . There's only like 12 cams up.

right. people who surf regularly dont rely on the phone report but summer time only kooks with foam boards do.....either way, whats the point of telling everybody in advance? Really, whats the point?

I'm not sure I agree entirely with this statement or its reasoning. I guess it depends whether you would you rather catch 6 good waves or 10 OK waves? I prefer the former. I know I'd be thinking about some of those good waves the rest of my day as opposed to those OK waves. OK is just another way of saying it was crap, but it felt good to get wet.

And I wouldn't say its freezing in San Diego, ever. Haven't put on booties in a couple years. But on the reverse, haven't put on boardshorts as much as I'd like to. But that's what Nicaragua's for.

I live in California! The waves are better here than at Folly! I can't stop rubbing it in! Unfortunately, I'm still the same kook I was when I lived at Folly!

That wasn't nice Chris. I'm actually 3X the kook that I was before because I spend 3X the amount of time surfing than I did at Folly. My section in the Thomas Brothers latest production confirms this. I can still give the middle fingers to a wave better than anyone, except Geoff Brack.

Hey it wasn't me...I was just at folly and anonymous is right, way too crowded. This is why I can't live there ever again, IR and I score uncrowded good surf everyday at lunch. Beware of Yellow Foam...

Sure you do... everyday.

How's that prison inmate release due to lack of funds gonna work out for ya out there in Crowdaphony land?

Yo IR....its pK. You been to Nica lately? The bird and I were just there....fyring! Anyway, Chad and I are going to spend a couple weeks driving the cali coast over the holidays and wouldnt mind catching a few with you. We will be staying with dan. See ya out there

Yes, that prison release program sounds like it will really affect the coastal areas and the crowded lineups. It will probaly be the same as living in North Charleston. I don't watch the news so let me know if anything else happens out here.

Yeah PK! I'm out on work release for 2 weeks around the holidays due to lack of government funds I guess. Let's do it.
