Now only if there was some real talent to watch. Too bad most of 'em lack skills. There, I said it and it had to be said!

Local contests are pretty darned silly to start with.

The key to being a complete surfer in SC is not competing with the same six people all your life.

The key is travel. Waves are like beautiful women . No two are alike. Get going.

If you want to compete that's cool .
Just go big or go home .
Repeating the bottom rung of the competitive ladder over and over makes no sense to me .
But ,hey ,whatever floats your boat. The beach scene's cool, fer sure. Have fun .

Winning that contest is like be the smartest kid in a class full of retards. King (Queen) of the Kooks! And that also needed to be said! And I'm going to remain "Anonymous" because I don't want to ruin my remote chance of getting some luvin' by pissing off any of the girls...ha ha.

anonymous, i don't think you have a clue. have you ever been to the contest? i doudt it. the feeling i get is not about outsurfing the other ladies but more about seeing old friends and living the stoke. that's what surfing is all about and the wahines have it right!

Goodkarma, I have a clue you tree hugging hipster. Yeah, I've been to that contest on more than one occasion and had some involvement with it in the past. Hey, if the ladies want to get together for a surf n' picnic and call it a contest I say "cool". But as a spectator, the contest is a joke as far as contests are concerned. Speaking strictly as a traveled surfer and former competetor, I've seen female surfers in other parts of the country that shread...and they weren't even pros. Which brings up the ugle question, why can't females in SC surf well??? Girls in NC and Fla. surf good...so what gives? Good luck to the girls and I hope they have waves and fun.

It also begs the question: Why does anon. care?

If you think it's lame, don't go. Kind of like someone getting upset over a symbol or a billboard. If you don't like it, don't f@$king look at it.

Offended people are ruining this country.

Chicks rip.

You didn't answer the question.

So why do you care?

Much less, why do you care enough to bust them on the cumpewter?

Little big man I rekon.

I am the other anonymous. I know who Grumpy is. He's a cool guy and I will not disclose his secret identity otherwise he may become one of the offended people that are running this country into the ground. And sorry, SC girls (with a few exceptions) surf like they have some sort of physical disability.

soooo stupid. The comments above are completely void of any intelligence. So silly.

After careful consideration I retract my above comment. I witnessed the Wahine contest and now agree with everyone else. For the most part they have little or no skills at surfing. It's just a fact. Sorry.
