a turd in the punchbowl...

...the surf flick A Fly in the Champagne premiered last night at the La Paloma theater in Encinitas. Unlike a movie premier in Charleston, a pro surfer actually showed up. Not a WCT surfer though, just Andy Irons. That's Sal Masekala, Chris Cote and AI on stage. I'm glad it was free because well...the title of this post says it all. I'm sure soon enough you can pay $8 to see it at American Theater or the Music Farm in Charleston, bro down with the bros, and then go to O'Malley's and drink with all the underage kids. I would wait for it to come out on DVD and rent it at McKevlin's.

Besides that, you can thank McKevlin's very own Perng for yesterday's epic waves on Folly because she's here is San Diego surfing measly chest-high Swami's while those with good timing got dredging Folly rights.

Someone sounds like a 13 year old girl who went to a Jonas Brothers concert.

Ian move on....... Stop posting about California. We get it the waves are better. There are pro surfers there. I know I used to live there. I went to the boost mobile a few times . It was cool. The waves were great most of the time. The thing is we live in Chuck town. It is only slightly better than lake Michigan. There are no pros here. Except for a few folly surfers that think they are. Most of all you are making me miss California, and the waves. Of course I will probably get my tax return on time this year. Unlike a lot of Californians who will get an iou.

Deal with it, or you can have 1 or 2 posts a week from Drew talking about how flat it is.

I'll take waves over a tax return any day.

I'm pretty sure AI is the turd....

Somebody misses being a small fish in a small pond. Guess it beats being a small turd in a big bowl.

Check out the post from the 18th under well...its not flat.....guess we should be doing something when it is....sounds pissed

Last time I checked they don't have a mcKevlins in CA. Why all the CA stuff? Ian go surfing get off the computer.

Well I live in California and they do have Popouts. The name of the blog is "No Popouts", created by me and starring me, and sometimes Drew (who's really busy with work and school.) Keeping this blog updated with fresh content is good for McKevlin's business, and even though I no longer get a paycheck from Tim McKevlin, he has taught me a lot and I do it out of the kindness of my heart. Besides the few of you who complain, I have many friends who enjoy the site and insist I keep it going. Sorry, its bigger than you and the other anonymous out there. If you want to be confined to the small world of Charleston, there's always the follywaves.com forum. Tons of great stuff on Mt Pleasant, IOP, and some Folly stuff too.

So why don't you get off the computer and go surf...oh, because there are no waves. Sorry to hear about the lake, er... I mean lack of waves, but you'll never dictate the content of this tissue box...unless you cry to Tim and say your offended and then I'll apologize but not really mean it.

Plus, I'm an Internet marketing consultant so I HAVE to be on the computer between surf sessions.

Plus, I've had a really sh***y couple weeks. Sorry for taking it out on you.

This blog was mildly entertaining before Ian moved to Cali. Now it just serves as a forum for him to take pot-shots at Folly locals and our lack of surf. What a douche. Just wondering, is your surfing any better now that you surf everyday, or are you still a kook who couldn't put it on a rail if his life depended on it?

I.R. said...

Boohoo. Yes I'm still the same kook who can't put it on rail, but at least I get tunnelled on my fishtail.

Anonymous said...

Once a kook, always a kook.

If some kook goes over the falls on his "fishtail" at Blacks and doesn't have a blog to boast about it does anyone give a shyt?

I.R. said...

According to Google Analytics, yes. 2 guys (or girls) give a shyt. They've gotten on the blog several times today, as much as they don't care.

make with the pics of Perng getting loaded in TJ.

jeez, i can't believe i even have to ask.

What's TJ? I happen to appreciate the fact that Ian still posts blogs. I like your sense of humor, Ian! I miss Cali already!

I.R. said...

TJ is Tijuana. You don't remember that night? The guy with the donkey and the luchadore mask singing the Lone Ranger theme song? Good times. I'm still sore.

Ian how do you like the lifeguards in California. Do you whine about them all the time. Kook

you anonymous's do not have enough balls to post your name with all the name calling. i enjoy the blog as many do, whether in Cali or Folly...at least we get to see what real waves are....no one is a TRUE surfer and lives on Folly. read something else and learn some other vocabulary besides "kook". I am sure Ian rips harder than you ever will and the only thing that makes you feel like a surfer is calling other people kooks....jerk offs. Ian at least is "mildly entertaining".

Long live the "No Popouts" blog, regardless of where it eminates from. Those who don't get tounge in cheek, usually put tounge in crack. Although, I would like Ian to personally kick my home state in the nuts for me. I might miss the Pacific, but once on shore?? Not so much.

Thats funny. The guy complained about posting anonymously........and he posted anonymously. What did he mean nobody is a true surfer at folly. That is kinda f'd up. Do you have to be from a certain place to be a true surfer. Slater is from Florida is that ok. The waves there are not as good as California or Hawaii. Whatever you need to relax.

posting anonymously was the irony of it. Okay I minced my words and was too brash using the "true surfer"....it is just frustrating when there hardly is ever a good wave...I am not talking about that wind chop side shore, but a decent wave that last more that 2 secs. it also sucks in this broke ass economy to try and fly somewhere with a decent waves...c'est la vie

Anonymous said...

No the true irony is that you implore "anonymouse" to expand his vocabulary but you don't seem to know what "mince" means. What you meant to say was that you didn't mince words. Kook.
