dear jimmy slade...

...are you surprised it took this long? I didn't want my emotions to get the best of me so I let some time pass before addressing the situation. This, at the time of the avoidable accident, was a 3-day old, surfed 2 sessions pretty much perfect ...Lost Whiplash (leash cup)

Forget about about the board, I know this killer ding repair guy who always rips around town on a scooter. He's got the ultimate set of tools. No hard feelings on my end...

First off, I take full responsibility for the incident. My inner wave hog and fun loving prankster got the best of me.

Second, the picture doesnt do the ding any justice. Its actually way worse than it looks. The nose of my board came close to going all the way through.

To make a long story short, I turned behind the peak on a left and attempted a late drop, Ian, paddling on my left side (facing the beach)turned as well and my plan was to let him drop in as I normally do just for laughs and follow him down the line, flipping him the bird, cussing a bit, etc. Its happened before and both of us usually laugh about it and paddle back out.

Sadly, my late drop turned into a buried rail and a half assed bottom turn to pull out...right into the bottom of Ians brand new high performance Lost. Ian hasnt spoken to me in a week...until now.

What can I say besides Im sorry.

I just hate that the nose of my board didnt sustain any damage. That might have made me feel a little better. :)
