Fins from Machado...

...so of course there is some bamboo in them. It has been said that Rob even handpicked the bamboo for these fins from his time drifting around the jungles of Melali. Then he used eco-whiteout to hand sign each center fin from the set after drawing a wing on the side fins.

The carbon fiber on the base of the fin is for drive. The bamboo stores energy by flexing into turns and then straightening out to give you more speed when coming out of the turn. The side fins are similar to the EA template from Future with Vector II concave. The slightly smaller rear similar to the F4 template. Come by the shop and check them out just in time for the holidays.*

Listen up dickheads, if you think rob machado is all peace and love peace and love then you have just taken a bite out of the industry cheese. What bothers me about RM is that RM sells an image and he does it very well. So well that his sponsers pay him millions and then package that image and then sell it to you. Fact: RM lives in a million dollar home over looking one of the best surf breaks in san diego. Fact: RM has never ridden for a "small/Soul" company but one major sell out company after another. Companies that rely on the RM image as a nitch. RM would tell you to throw out your computer but I'm sure he is reading this on his ipad. In the water I'm a RM fan, he rips. I just love how good RM is at selling RM. Not jealous just looking through the smoke and mirrors. I'm not hater and really like looking at ads in surfing mags but at some point you have to be like WTF, RM! Stopping talking down to me. We get it, but you know what, if RM wasn't such a GREAT surfer, he would be just another freak.
PS: IR I still hate J.O.B.
and FU to all who like to point out spelling errors, you can go back to jerking off in the mirror now.

You know what really grinds my gears...

Machado is the best hair-farmer hands down, and surf style for days.

But his whole image on land is equatable to less than 1% of people who surf, and they are trustafarians. Shabba!!

Seriously?

Did you make that up or does it come written on the package?

I didn't say the carbon fiber and bamboo was going to change your life, but do a little hydrodynamic research and you might understand why companies like Futures and FCS spend the time and money developing these fins. Because of the developement and the materials, the fins are expensive so they attach RM's name to them to help them sell despite the $109.95 price tag. Don't get me wrong they are still making money, but why would they bother if they didn't. To answer Anon's question, I made it up based on what I know about how fins work.

I am not mentioning any names, but let's just say that Rob Machado can tongue-kiss my sh*thole.

Carbon at the base of the fin won't create drive, the length of the base and plan shape of the fin will.

Bamboo has one of the best, if not the best, flex patterns for fins. That is until you wrap it in all that fiberglass and carbon fiber, thus cancelling all its great flex characteristics.

Marlin Bacon of 101 Fin Co does it right. He uses the least amount of fiberglass possible so the bamboo retains its superior flex characteristics. Made in America and T. Knox approved!!

Please, tell us more about hy-bro-dynamics...

If the base flexes you loose drive. Carbon is stiff and won't flex. Thats how it plays into the drive. While all the fiberglass does cancel some of the bamboo's natural flex, it is better then a foam core. You're right though, 101fins are awesome.

"hy-bro-dynamics"

Excellant. If that isn't already an official broism, it should be submitted.

Good stuff.
