"...hey I have a hat like that too"

Looks like these fellas decided to go on a little outing to the beach wearing classic safari hats. Now if I saw one guy in a hat like this strolling around Folly I may just think to myself, "hey there is an eccentric guy wearing a weird hat", but the fact that there is two of them is a bit odd. How does something like this happen? Maybe they met up and were both wearing their pith helmets and for fear of exposing their bald spots kept their supposedly unique head wear on. Plausible... but this clearly was planned. I bet what really happened is the guy in the vest called up his buddy, Red Hood and said, "Listen man, I've got this kicken safari hat I'm wearing out to the beach." Red Hood responds, "Hey, I have a hat like that too. Lets wear them together."

"Magic Board"

The limited edition Wizard Sleeve is a new shape from Channel Islands designed by Kelly Slater.

It seems like a biscuit with a pulled in tail at first glance of the outline, but is much thinner and not as flat.

Coming standard with a quint set of FCS K 2.1. Performance Core fins, this board can be driven off of the center pivot point as a thruster or ridden as a quad for speed down the line.

The tail is supposed to be a double bump rounded pen tail, but the bumps are very subtle and hard to notice.

The Dimensions of this particular board are 5'8" x 19 1/2" x 2 1/2" and it is numbered 109 out of 405. The msrp for this board is $780. Tim thought that sounded a bit high, so we priced it at $725. I know that is a lot for a sanded finish shortboard, but Kelly Slater's endorsement and Channel Island's laminates are expensive... and consequently awesome (maybe it's the other way around).

Slimming Down

In our most recent of Allison shipments we received a 5'8" GT Fish a little different then the ones I was used to seeing.

With a width of 2 1/2", this is the thinnest GT Fish I have ever seen... and it has never looked better.

The nose has been thinned out a bit more as well adding some extra rocker.

I like this new direction of GT Fish and hope to see more like this in the future.

Dim: 5'8" x 20 1/2" x 2 1/2"
and at $620 it costs less then a CI Whip, Pod, Skinny Fish, etc.

Follywood

This is the view from the back door at the shop.

The Sand Dollar getting a little bit of a make over too...

Some black paint and old band posters is all it takes to turn the Dollar into a bar inherited by a female musician who "re-discovers her passion for music while working to revive the run-down tavern business" in the indie film currently in production known as "Angel Camouflaged." I hope the filming doesn't invade the local watering hole for too long. The locals get cranky without their water.

Walmart, Lowes, and The Sand Dollar

I'm sure if you have been to any of the chain retail stores (Lowes, Home Depot, Walmart, CVS, etc.) then you may have been shocked to find Christmas decorations already on display. Yesterday it seems Folly got a little pre-season taste of Christmas too when Santa pulled up to the Dollar on his Harley for some last minute R and R before he gets busy stealing Christmas from Jesus.

Wounded Pigeon International

Can anyone guess who this is? I'll give you a hint they live in California and still find it necessary to travel to Nicaragua while his former SC residence is left void of any semblance of a wave. I'm sure you guys recognize this mystery surfers avionic style. Maybe it's time for me to take a trip away from the lake.
