It Sucks to be a Lobster

I don't know if you have been up on the pier in awhile, but it looks like the classic claw grabber game has a new twist.

This is actually a claw machine that uses real live lobsters as prizes.

I guess this has been there for awhile, but come on...

Who knew trivializing life could be so much fun?

...pfffftt...

WTF??

So the Charleston County Parks and Rec. board is okay with this? Given they operate the pier?

The above anon. statement is a very good question indeed.

It's not trivializing life , it just makes killing more fun !

i wish they made one with piglets in it. I'm in the mood for some ribs...

...besides lobsters are slow. No challenge there.

Yeah, I saw it last Saturday evening. Just when I thought people couldn't get any dumber, along comes this!

This game is at least 10 years old, we had it at the restaurant I managed down on the market back in 1999. Except I had the key to it...

Do "yall" really think South Carolina is the only state to have this?

I admit, I think it's lame, but to stereotype South Carolina in general is even lamer.

Old Kook...call PETA...do it man... we'll all sleep better at night knowing no lobsters were killed...

OMG like WTF... lobsters in a tank? I'm gonna go cry my eyes out.

And yes Grumpy one, it is only in the backwards ass south where they hold lobsters in tanks...buncha inbred morons the whole lot of ya.

No where else in this nation will you find lobsters in tanks or parking meters at the beach. God I hate this place.

I can go to the Piggly Wiggly and find lobsters in a tank, but you can't put in dollars to try to grab one with a robotic claw. I am sure these have been around but until yesterday I wasn't aware of any.

I've got a $100 in $1 and I will be setting everyone of those little guys free this weekend - mark my work that tank will be empty come labor day - its a protest! heeeeeeeyaaaaaa

Grump, I'm not taking the PETA route on this...not at all.

I just think the premise of a freaking arcade game grabbing lobsters is pretty ridiculous.

It may have been around, but like Drew, I've never seen it before and I just don't think it being on County property is an appropriate place. That's all.

Yea, set them free... they will die in our teppid water within hours of release...good idea.

Don't forget to remove the rubberbands from their claws so they can die with dignity!

Even if it is a fishing pier, I hope no fish ever get hurt.... sniffle sniffle

I am seriously not looking for an argument but, like drew said, you can go to piggly wiggly or red lobster or anywhere and see the same thing.... I think lobsters are delicious and, though keeping them in a tank like that may not be very humane, if i can take a shot at getting one for a buck as opposed to $20 or $30 or whatever they go for now it seems like a good deal! Sorry... I was born and raised here... Yee Haw!

spot on trey.

I love lobster and if I can get one for 2 bucks that's fantastic. If you think this is cruel, how do you think large chain restaurants treat lobsters?

I realized today how easy it is to pick out someone from California in a crowd today... They are the ones telling everyone they are from California.
