...McKevlin's blog was mentioned in the current issue of The Surfer's Journal as one of the most important surf blogs in the history of surf blogs...well, it doesn't really say that but there is a teeny little paragraph that has some words and stuff, some complimentary, others filler. Heck, I might have even paid them to mention it...
But as usual, its worth picking up the issue since it is the only readable mag out there. Thanks for watching.

Nice Job! IR
Dude, I totally blogged you.
current ad for action sports market:
Channel Islands in Santa Barbara, CA is searching for a Finish Shaper with 1+ years experience to hand finish pre-milled polyurethane or polystyrene surfboard cores to spec.
no pop outs indeed!
Mckelvins,
just the first, and biggest shop to sell out,
the number one carrier of the first pop out,
burton, opps, channel islands!
no wonder POP didnt surf!
run to meckevlins, pick up your new board , "shaped" by someone with one year experience!
or buy one of their cheapo no name boards,
that will fall apart in time for next swell,
if you learned to surf by then.
and dont forget, they charge you if you bring
back your pop out rental board with sand on it.
er, hello, no sand allowed on surfboards??hmmmm
these guys outta work for the new parking police!
no pop outs indeed.
living in the past.
95% of surfboard manufactures today use cad machines to produce rough-specced blanks that are hand-finished by shapers. I'm not going to sit here and say that the ad isn't ridiculous, it makes it sound that if you've been messing around in your shed with some blanks you might be able to be a finish shaper. You either have the talent or you don't, and a good craftsman doesn't need years of practice, he or she could do 20 boards in a month and hone their skills.
Do you cover your board in sand before you bring it in the house?
The fact that you put two posts up within a few minutes just goes to show that you didn't think them through and jumped the gun just so you could talk smack. You still don't have a grasp of what a popout is. Do you understand customizable?
And besides, if we allowed all the popout rental boards to come back to the shop with sand on them, there would be no sand left for your va.....
Good luck with those pearls, salty.
